Grossarltal: snow-sure slopes amidst Ski amadé

A winter sports paradise for the whole family

Grossarltal Valley – with its two towns Grossarl and Hüttschlag – impresses its visitors with beautiful slopes, state-of-the-art lifts, and reliable snow conditions. No matter where you look, there are stunning wide ski runs – and right next to them, cosy mountain huts.

The ski resort, officially called “Grossarltal-Dorfgastein”, boasts guaranteed snow until after Easter. Those who crave a lot of variety are in luck: Grossarltal is also part of Ski amadé , Austria's largest network of ski resorts, with a whopping 760 kilometres of ski runs.

By the way: In 2020, skiresort.de labelled Grossarltal-Dorfgastein ski resort as “top class: world-leading ski resort with up to 80 km of slopes”. Right in the middle of all the action: the ski rental shops of INTERSPORT Rent!

More about the ski resort

The Grossarltal-Dorfgastein ski resort is located at a snow-sure altitude of between 885 and 2,027 metres. More than 90 per cent of the ski runs are also equipped with snowmaking machines. This means you benefit from the best possible snow conditions until April.

Beginners prefer the wide, easy slopes of the resort. Children love the funslope with tow lift, a tunnel and waves. Freestyle skiers and snowboarders can be found practising their tricks in the snowpark next to the Sonnenbahn mountain station. And seasoned off-piste skiers venture onto the "Himmelreich" freeride slope or the extra-long Bergland route.
